The recent transfer of Local Unit Commander (LUC) Bob Mansaray from Kambia to Kenema has sparked a wave of public appreciation from residents of Kambia District, many of whom have praised his impactful and professional approach to policing. Over his tenure, LUC Mansaray built a reputation as a committed and ethical law enforcement officer who transformed the security landscape of the district.
Leading the voices of praise is senior civil society activist Komarabai Kamara, who took to social media to commend LUC Mansaray’s legacy. Describing him as “the best in the history of Kambia Policing,” Kamara noted that Mansaray stood out as a true public servant who prioritized the welfare of the community over personal gain. “This is a prototype of patriotic public servant, unlike others who see Kambia only as a place to accumulate wealth without checks and balances,” Kamara wrote.
Before LUC Mansaray’s arrival, Kambia District was reportedly plagued by rising crime rates, including violent incidents, drug abuse, and theft. However, under his leadership, there was a noticeable decline in these issues. His proactive strategies, ranging from community policing to collaborative crime-fighting initiatives, restored a sense of normalcy and safety across the district. Many residents credit him with rebuilding public trust in the police force.
