The ALWAKA Charity Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through education, held its first annual retreat for scholarship beneficiaries on Saturday, October 25, at its headquarters located at 1 Kabia Lane, Texaco, Freetown. The event brought together over twenty scholarship recipients who are currently pursuing various academic disciplines across different universities in Sierra Leone. The foundation, which continues to champion youth empowerment through educational support and mentorship, organized the retreat to foster unity, personal development, and collaboration among its beneficiaries.

The retreat started with opening prayers and self-introductions, allowing participants to connect and familiarize themselves with one another. This opening session created a warm atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect, setting the tone for an engaging and insightful event. The retreat provided a safe and interactive platform for students to share their educational experiences, challenges, and aspirations. Through these interactions, the foundation hopes to build a strong support network among scholars, empowering them to excel academically and socially.

In his address, Mr. Abdul Kabia, the National Coordinator of ALWAKA Charity Foundation, emphasized the purpose and vision of the retreat.
